About Springhead Brewery

Launched in 1990 in Sutton-on-Trent, near Newark, Springhead was the smallest brewery in England at the time. After earning a string of awards, they upsized to converted mill in Laneham, Retford in 2011.

The team use four basic ingredients to craft the perfect beer - grain, water, hops and yeast. Each brew takes around seven days to ferment, and then the beer is conditioned for preferably between seven to ten days.

They typically use malted barley from producers across the UK and by roasting the grain differently, it helps them create a wide variety of flavours. From a sweet aroma in their most popular beer ‘Roaring Meg’ to more predominate malty notes found in ‘Robin Hood’.
