Health walks

We’re coordinating and supporting a network of health walks across the county..

Staff volunteering

Our colleagues are keen to make a difference in their local communities – that’s why we offer each one of our 2,800 colleagues the chance spend up to 16 hours per year doing paid volunteering.

Community Cuppa

Local residents, community and voluntary groups will come together over a cuppa and cake as part of a new scheme designed to tackle loneliness and social isolation.

Community garden

Calling green-fingered volunteers - it's time to pick up tools and help out at your local community garden.

Libraries

As well as the well-known outlets like food stores, pharmacies and post offices the Society also runs three libraries.

All of the libraries are supported by teams of dedicated volunteers from the local area.

Clothing recycling banks

As part of our commitment to looking after our environment, we’ve challenged people to donate 10,000 bags of unwanted clothing this summer.

Charitable support policy

As a local co-operative business, supporting the local charities and good causes in the areas where we trade is fundamental to our mission to be a successful co-operative. We help to support hundreds of local charities, community groups and projects each year.
