Dying Matters Awareness Week

Bucket List Web

What's on your bucket list?

We might start such a list before a milestone age or keep one as a reminder to live in the moment. Sometimes, it's also a way to face an inevitable part of our lives - death.

It's a tough subject and affects people differently. Some might feel reluctant to plan for it. Others may be unsure of loved ones' wishes or their administrative affairs. It’s all understandable. Death is a difficult subject.

So, what can you do?

The answer is simple – it all starts with talking.

We're supporting Dying Matters Awareness Week from Monday 13th - Sunday 19th May 2019, a national campaign aiming to get everyone thinking about bereavement and breaking down barriers by getting your thoughts out into the open.

Our funeral homes are taking part by running a series of drop-in events in our communities. To get the conversation started, we'll be asking people to add their bucket list items to blackboards at our events. Plus - there will be a chance for you to ask all those unanswered questions you’ve been too shy to tackle and to meet our friendly, sympathetic and professional colleagues.

It’s an opportunity to mull over your future wishes and any personal touches such as; would you like to be buried or cremated? What music would you like at your funeral? Is there a style of transport you'd like? What type of memorial would you want? Would you prefer an eco-coffin?

Peace of mind

By recording your wishes through a Lincolnshire Co-op funeral plan, you’ll give loved ones less to handle when the time comes.

It’s also a good way to give family peace of mind by paying in advance. Instead of insurance policies and over 50s plans - which may not cover the average cost of a funeral – our Lincolnshire Co-op funeral plan ensures that whenever you come to use it, the full cost is covered if the requirements haven’t changed.

A funeral plan with us starts from £2,795 including a £200 member discount voucher* when you attend one of our Dying Matters drop-in events.

Got you thinking?

You can discuss all of this and much more at our Dying Matters sessions or pop in to one of our funeral branches.
