Perched overlooking the deep blue of the Atlantic, less than 10 minutes’ walk from Caleta de Fuste’s golden belt of sand, this hotel has scored a winning location for making the most of your island getaway.

Days at the hotel revolve around the central outdoor pool, plonked in the middle of a sea-view terrace that’s freckled with swaying palms, rustic parasols, and sun loungers aplenty. There’s a separate pool just for little ones, and they’ve got a mini club tucked away here, too, so it’s a real treat for the youngsters.

Beach day on the cards? You can walk it in less than 10 minutes, but if you’ve the whole gang – and everything but the kitchen sink – in tow, why not hop on the handy shuttle that’ll whizz you to the shore and back? The service kicks off after breakfast, and runs throughout the afternoon, making the rounds at a couple of neighbouring hotels en route.

Speaking of breakfast, all roads lead to the buffet restaurant at mealtimes, where you’ll find generous spreads of international fare and local favourites. A pair of bars handle the drinks, while the poolside number does a line in light bites and snacks, too, so you certainly won’t go hungry here. Entertainment is on the menu a couple of nights each week, so make for the main bar after sunset and settle in for the show.
