Lose weight, feel great! Our top tips will keep that spring in your step ready for those summer months.
Hydration, hydration, hydration
Aim to drink 1.2 litres of water each day to keep your body watered and hunger pangs at bay. Add a slice of lemon or try sparkling if you want to mix things up.
Watch your portions
No matter how healthy you eat, you can still put on weight if you’re eating too much. It’s all about eating the right things but in moderation! Try eating with smaller plates and bowls, eat slowly and turn off the TV to avoid overeating.
Move and shake
People who combine regular exercise and a healthy diet are much more likely to lose weight and keep it off. You can start by making small changes, like getting off the bus one stop early – it can make all the difference!
Get in your 5 a day
It's recommended that we eat at least 5 portions of fruit and veg every day. Vegetables are rich in fibre, which keeps your digestion system happy as well as keeping you feeling fuller for longer. Add a hint of sweetness to your day with a fresh piece of fruit, on its own or even on your cereal to kick start your day.
Swap
Small changes to your diet can make a big overall difference. Swap your whole milk for semi-skimmed or skimmed. Switch out white breads, bagels and muffins for the wholegrain variety. Swap a fizzy drink for a glass of water.
Ditch those late nights
It's easy to reach for those sugary snacks to give you a burst of energy when you didn't get a good night's rest. Aim for at least 7-9 hours of sleep every night to wake up refreshed and energised.
Get busy in the kitchen
Instead of ordering a Friday night takeaway, get your chef's hat on and make your own healthy version. Why not try out our sweet potato and lentil curry - easy to make and packed full of healthy veg.
Treat yourself
Don't restrict yourself from your favourite treats, enjoy the occasional sweet as long as you stay within your daily calorie allowance. Banning foods might make you crave them more.
