Many of us fill January with New Year’s resolutions. We muster up our willpower to exercise and eat well.
The real challenge is often sticking to it, however our friendly pharmacy colleagues are on hand to help you feel happy and healthy in February and beyond.
A free 12-week weight management programme is available at our 49 pharmacies, to help care for people’s health and wellbeing. It’s completely free and helps slimmers lose weight safely with calorie advice and exercise tips. Health champions at each pharmacy give weekly weigh-ins and continuous moral support so it’s easier to succeed.
And it works – two women recently praised the plan after signing up at our Spilsby Pharmacy and together losing more than five stone.
Our pharmacies offer free health checks and advice with no appointment needed, from weight and diabetes checks to advice on foot care, skin complaints and more.
Just pop in to see if your local pharmacy can help.
One third of people with high blood pressure don’t know they have it. A check only takes five minutes and could save your life!
Our pharmacy colleagues can check your blood pressure for free and give advice on what your reading means.
Want to be a quitter? Our pharmacies can help you give up smoking and lots have specially trained advisors to help you.
They'll start with a one-to-one chat to talk about your health, a carbon monoxide breath test and advice on which stop smoking options best suit you. Together you’ll then set a ‘quit date’ and your advisor will help you along with weekly chats.
You can also collect a free NHS Smokefree Quit Kit in any of our pharmacies.
Cholesterol checks help identify the risk of stroke or heart disease. Our participating pharmacies offer a simple blood test which can give a breakdown, including your levels of ‘good’ and ‘bad’ cholesterol.
