The adults-only (16+) Stella Island hotel effortlessly impresses with its chic, modern interiors and laidback luxury atmosphere. You’ll find it on Crete’s northern coast in Analipsi. Wander through the grounds and you’ll see that the lagoon-like pool winds its way through the complex, and it comes with wooden sunbathing platforms. On one side, there’s a huddle of swanky swim-up rooms, and elsewhere you’ll find overwater bungalow rooms – you’d be forgiven for thinking you’d pitched up in the Maldives. You can even go one step further and opt for a villa with its own private pool – now that’s luxury! 

When it comes to food, you’ve got the choice of five restaurants. The main restaurant is a buffet setup serving around-the-world dishes, and the rest are à la carte eateries. The rooftop place specialises in Mediterranean cuisine and then there are restaurants serving sushi, authentic Cretan dishes, and grilled meat and fish. Snacks and drinks are on offer from the five bars, which are dotted around the poolside. 

If you can tear yourself away from your daybed, you can get involved in games of football, tennis and basketball. Aqua fit sessions take place in the pool, and you can even join dance and yoga classes. There’s a sumptuous spa to indulge in, too, which offers massages and other pampering treatments. You’ll find a sauna, a Turkish bath, hot tubs and a heated indoor pool here, as well as a gym that’s kitted out with cardio equipment and free weights. 

Evenings bring live entertainment – think live music and themed nights. Once a week you'll be treated to Cretan Folklore night with music and dancing, not to be missed!
