We can support you to quit for good

Stop Smoking

Most people find it hard to quit smoking using willpower alone. But by getting support you are four times more likely to quit successfully according to NHS UK. Our pharmacies provide a free care service helping you to give up.

You can contact a pharmacy and make an appointment to see one of the specially trained advisors. Our advisors are fully trained in providing personalised support and motivational counselling and can offer advice on the latest stop smoking products.

The first appointment will last about 20 minutes. One-to-one the advisor will go through the individual’s medical history, ask them to take a carbon monoxide breath test and then talk through the different options available to find out what will be best. Once the patient has decided what to go for, they set a ‘quit date’ to work towards.

During the next ten weeks they will meet with their advisor once a week for 15 minutes to monitor how they’re getting on and make any changes.

If you stop smoking for 28 days you’re five times more likely to quit for good. That’s why One You is running Stoptober – a mass event aimed at getting people to stop smoking in October.

Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health, but many smokers who want to quit aren’t sure about the best way to go about it. Relying on willpower alone (going ‘cold turkey’) is the least effective way to stop. You can boost your chance of success by getting some support.

From stop smoking aids to expert face-to-face help from your local Lincolnshire Co-op Pharmacy, Stoptober can help you choose the support that’s right for you.

They can even plan your own personal quit plan giving you the best support that suits you. Take a look at the One You website and gain access to tools that can help you to stop this October.
