Most people find it hard to quit smoking using willpower alone. But by getting support you're three times more likely to quit successfully according to NHS UK.
Our pharmacies provide a free care service helping you to give up.
Selected Lincolnshire Co-op pharmacies have specially trained advisors, you can contact your local branch to find out where your nearest advisor is located. Or scroll down to the bottom of the page to find a list of pharmacies where our advisors are located.
Our advisors are fully trained in providing personalised support and motivational counselling and can offer advice on the latest stop smoking products. The appointments can be done either in person, over the phone or via video call.
The first appointment will last about 20 minutes. One-to-one the advisor will go through the individual’s medical history, then talk through the different options available to find out what will be best. Once the patient has decided what to go for, they set a ‘quit date’ to work towards.
During the next ten weeks they will chat with their advisor once a week for 15 minutes to monitor how they’re getting on and make any changes.
If you stop smoking for a month you’re five times more likely to quit for good.
Quitting smoking is one of the best things you can do for your health, but many smokers who want to quit aren’t sure about the best way to go about it. Relying on willpower alone (going ‘cold turkey’) is the least effective way to stop. You can boost your chance of success by getting some support.
From stop smoking aids to expert face-to-face help from your local Lincolnshire Co-op Pharmacy, find the support that’s right for you.
You can even set up your own personal quit plan giving you the best support that suits you. Take a look at the NHS website and gain access to tools that can help you to stop this month.
If you're thinking of quitting and would like to find out more talk to your local pharmacy today!
