Stylish new home for travel branch

A busy travel branch which has helped holidaymakers book breaks for over 28 years is moving to a stylish new £300,000 unit next to Lincoln’s M&S Foodhall.

Lincolnshire Co-op’s Tritton Road Travel branch is due to open in the purpose-built space at Moorland Centre Retail Park, off Tritton Road, on Friday 9th March. The unit has been specially-clad to match the recently opened M&S Foodhall and is close to the travel branch’s old home on the site.

The branch has a modern design and luxurious touches including a ceiling-mounted world map to help holidaymakers spot destinations to explore.

There are eight travel desks inside for holidaymakers to book their perfect trip with the experienced travel team, and a cruise lounge for customers keen to explore oceans and waterways.

There’s also a Bureau de Change to provide travel currency, plus two comfy seating areas so customers can enjoy a hot drink while browsing brochures and gathering inspiration.

Holidaymakers can pop in and see the new space for themselves when the branch opens its doors. An official ceremony will also be held later this month.

Lincolnshire Co-op’s Travel Group Manager Wayne Dennett said: “Our Tritton Road Travel team offer a valued service to many people around Lincoln and further afield, so we’re pleased they’re moving into a modern and spacious new home. We believe the branch’s design is different to anything else in Lincolnshire at the moment.

“Whether you have a firm favourite destination or are open to exploring new places, everything about the branch will help you feel inspired and excited to book your next trip away. Because we’re independent and aren’t tied to any single tour operator, we have the flexibility to book from over 200 suppliers.

“Our friendly travel advisors are also experts at finding fantastic breaks at the best value, from once in a lifetime trips and UK breaks to fun family holidays abroad, so why not pop in to Tritton Road Travel and say hello to the team?”

Lincolnshire Co-op’s travel branches recently won a national honour for their work.

They beat competition from over 800 different agents to be named Member of the Year by Worldchoice, a consortium of independent travel branches across the UK.

Judges praised Lincolnshire Co-op’s travel branches for their supportive culture, colleague training and the role they play in local communities, including fundraising for the Society’s Community Champions scheme through donations by holidaymakers and a Santa’s Suitcase appeal which brightened older people’s lives with gifts in December.
