Society Election Results 2026
Throughout May, members have been voting in our 2026 Board of Directors elections.
Thank you to everyone who voted, stood as a candidate, or supported the process along the way. Your involvement is what makes our co-op different, ensuring members remain at the heart of the decisions that shape our future. We’re delighted to announce the results and to welcome three newly elected Directors to the
Board.
Robert Allen, Group Secretary & General Counsel:
“On behalf of the Board, and in my capacity as Returning Officer, I am pleased to announce the results of the recent Director elections.
Many congratulations to Julie, Debbie and Richard on their election to the Board. We look forward to welcoming them in due course. I would also like to extend my sincere thanks to those candidates who were not successful on this occasion, or who otherwise expressed an interest in this year’s elections. Your passion, time and energy reflect the depth of commitment across our membership.
I would also like to thank all members who took part in the voting process. Your engagement and commitment to the governance of the organisation are vital to its continued strength and success, and the high level of participation is both encouraging and greatly appreciated. I am also delighted to confirm that a total of £8,827 will be donated to our Community Champions Scheme, representing £1 for each Member vote submitted.”
David Cowell, Chair of the Board of Directors:
“As Chair of the Board, I am delighted to congratulate Julie, Debbie and Richard on their election to the Society Board. Their appointment reflects the confidence placed in them by the membership, and I am pleased to see the Board further strengthened by the addition of new skills, perspectives and experience. This is an important aspect of good governance, helping to ensure the Board remains well equipped to guide the organisation through future opportunities and challenges.
I would also like to express my sincere thanks to current Directors Jane Moate and Mark Fields, who will be stepping down from the Board. Their contribution, dedication and stewardship have played a significant role in the organisation’s progress, and their commitment has been greatly valued. On behalf of the Board, I extend our sincere thanks for their service and wish them every success in the future.”
