From prescriptions and flu vaccinations to treating your feet with our podiatrists or helping you to stop smoking, we can help you stay healthy.

As part of national Ask Your Pharmacist Week, we want to highlight some of our pharmacy services that you may not have realised that we offer.

Urinary Tract Infections are common in women and while they can be very uncomfortable, they are usually easy to treat, especially when diagnosed on time. That's why we're supporting the new NHS UTI Test & Treat Service in our pharmacies.

Our expert pharmacists are fully qualified to interpret and advise your treatment options based on your results - which may include prescription medications.

In the six weeks since launching the service it has:

  • Helped over 200 eligible women suffering from symptoms of a UTI
  • Completed 180 full consultations
  • Supplied approximately 50% of women with antibiotics, ensuring those who really need antibiotics receive them, and supporting responsible supply to reduce AMR - a build up of resistance to medicines, which can happen if medicines are prescribed when not necessarily needed.

Following a recent survey by Asthma UK, which found that up to one third of asthma sufferers aren’t using their inhaler properly, Lincolnshire Co-op pharmacies are running a campaign which aims to encourage people who have asthma to learn the correct way to use their inhalers.

“The most common mistake that people who use inhalers make is breathing in too hard for their device or too gently,” explains Pharmacist Jeff Law, who is based at Lincolnshire Co-op’s Cabourne Avenue Pharmacy in Lincoln.

People who use inhalers can drop in to any Lincolnshire Co-op pharmacy to find out more about how to use their inhaler in the correct way.

If you're experiencing domestic abuse and need immediate help, you can Ask for ANI at one of our pharmacies.

We'll offer you a private space, provide you with a phone and ask if you'd like to call 999 or speak to a domestic abuse support helpline.

Here's how it works:

  1. Ask one of our pharmacy colleagues for 'ANI' or ask for a safe place.
  2. We'll ask you to take a seat in our consultation room. If you're with another adult, we'll ask if you can go to the consultation room on your own to make sure you're safe.
  3. Our colleagues will confirm that anything you talk to them about is completely confidential and explain how you can access immediate support from the police, a national helpline or a local support service.
  4. If you would like this support, we’ll help you make contact or do so on your behalf if you would prefer.
