Holton-Le-Clay residents are benefitting from significant improvements to their local Lincolnshire Co-op food store and post office, following a significant refurbishment.

As well as giving the outlet a modernised look, the £500,000 refresh has seen new and enhanced products and services introduced.

Red Bull and frozen Coca-Cola machines and a Rollover Hot Dogs unit have been installed, and shoppers can continue to access pre-existing products and services including fresh fruit and vegetables, food to go and chilled wines and beers.

The Society offers a Love Local range that supports local business, featuring products like Alfred Enderby smoked salmon and haddock from Grimsby and Cote Hill Cheese from Market Rasen.

A new ‘Your community shop’ fascia has been installed outside the food store, as well as a new community unit inside, where customers can donate essential supplies to their local food bank, We are ONE, and recycle soft plastics and batteries.

Energy efficient solutions including new CO2 refrigeration and air conditioning have also been introduced.

The post office has also benefitted from a renewed look, including new signage and shelving.

Amy Holloway, Holton-Le-Clay Food Store Manager, said: “We’ve had a fantastic response from our customers, who are enjoying their refreshed modernised food store, and our new services are already very popular!

“The team is excited to continue offering customers an even better shopping experience and giving them further choices of products when they visit us – we're delighted with the transformation.”

This work is part of the co-operative's cyclical refresh programme, which will see work take place at different trading outlets every year, with approximately £4m being invested annually.

The programme launched in September 2024, and since then over £8m has been invested into 49 outlets across food, funeral, pharmacy, travel and post offices.

Chris Glover, Lincolnshire Co-op Senior Project Manager, said: We’re proud to be investing in our outlets, as this work ensures that we're able to deliver high-quality services, as well as meeting the needs of our members and customers.

“Making life better in our communities is a focal point of our purpose, and the cyclical refresh programme is another way the business is providing support and adding value for local people.”
