Lincolnshire Co-op is gearing up for an online fundraising quiz on Sunday 24th May and the community retailer is calling on lots of people to get together and take part – virtually of course!
The quiz will be shown on the Lincolnshire Co-op YouTube channel from 7pm. It will feature six rounds, including general knowledge, food and drink, sport and leisure and TV and films.
All you yellowbellies out there will be tested with a ‘local’ round and Lincs FM’s Joseph Begley and John Marshall will be looking after the music round.
Lincolnshire Co-op colleagues have got involved too, with quizmasters from the Society’s food stores, travel branches, post offices, pharmacies, funeral homes and Head Office posing brain-teasers. The evening is being hosted by a Lincolnshire Co-op colleague too - Dale Anderson, who is normally used to puzzling over computer issues as part of the IT department.
Lincolnshire Co-op’s Community Manager Sam Turner said: “We’ve been delighted with how many people have joined us to say thank you to the NHS by taking part in this fundraising campaign. We’ve already raised more than £13,000 which will go towards extras that aren’t covered in normal NHS budgets, including staff welfare, training, improving the patient environment and research.
“To reach this total, our colleagues have donned fancy dress and an array of rainbow colours, lots of shoppers have given at the tills and people have also gone online to Lincolnshire Co-op’s Virgin Money Giving NHS fundraising page to donate.
“We’d love to have lots of keen quizzers join us on Sunday to give their brains a workout while raising money for these fantastic local NHS charities too.”
All you’ll need to do on the night is head to Lincolnshire Co-op’s YouTube channel at 7pm on Sunday 24th May to take part in the quiz. Donations can be made now through the Virgin Money Giving NHS fundraising page.
There's also other ways to donate in store - find out more here.
There are six NHS groups supported through Lincolnshire Co-op’s initiative: United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust Charitable Funds, The Health Tree Foundation (Northern Lincolnshire & Goole), Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charity, Queen Elizabeth Hospital Trust (Kings Lynn), York Hospitals Trust and the Wishh Foundation in Hull.
