Lincolnshire Co-op is supporting a number of local NHS charities and every penny raised will make a difference - here's how...

The Health Tree Foundation works in partnership with the Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Trust.

It’s recently funded tablets for patients to enable them to keep in touch with their families while no visitors are allowed in hospitals, plus provided toiletries for those in hospital and supplies for NHS colleagues.

Future projects include buying interactive touch screen devices for use with dementia patients. They can be updated with recorded messages from home, photos and films to help with reminiscing, providing great comfort to patients.

Charity Manager Clare Woodard said: “Knowing that our local community is with us during this difficult time means the world to us all and we are so grateful. Thank you Lincolnshire Co-op and all the local people going above and beyond to support their local NHS charity”

The United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust Charitable Funds supports staff and patients by providing items not normally covered through mainstream NHS budgets. These are often the little things that can make the biggest difference for patients and those they love.

It’s recently funded iPads so patients can keep in touch with their families, as well as other items to keep them entertained such as puzzle and colouring books. It has also supported NHS teams with wellbeing packages during these challenging times.

ULHT Director of Finance and Digital Paul Matthew said: “We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received from our local. Like the weekly Clap for Carers, it really has helped to boost morale and has made a huge difference to all of our colleagues during this difficult time.”

Lincolnshire Co-op is supporting NHS charities like these across the area – you can join the campaign and donate online or at the till in your local food store or pharmacy.

You can also take part in the virtual fundraising quiz on Lincolnshire Co-op's You Tube channel at 7pm on Sunday 24th May.
