Make your own bunting for VE Day

On Friday 8th May 2020 the UK will be commemorating the 75th anniversary of VE Day when the guns fell silent at the end of war in Europe.

Due to the coronavirus restrictions, most VE Day 75 events and street parties have had to be cancelled or postponed. To help brighten up spirits in these challenging times, BBC Radio Lincolnshire has launched the #GreatBritishBunting initiative.

The station wants to mark the occasion by encouraging people to make their own special VE Day 75 ‘Great British Bunting’ to display in windows at home.

You can decorate your bunting with pictures of whatever inspires you, whether it’s those who fought on the frontline or worked hard on the homefront, or whether it’s a celebration of your own personal hero.

You can download a template of bunting here.

Make sure you share your pictures with BBC Radio Lincolnshire on social media using the hashtags #GreatBritishBunting, #VEDay75 and #BBCMakeaDifference.
