Volunteers from our funeral homes having been picking up paintbrushes to spruce up 36 fence panels at Bassetlaw Hospice in Retford.
The team from funeral services in Lincoln and Gainsborough spent two days clearing plants and sanding and repainting the dozens of panels. Despite unpredictable weather, they had a lot of fun giving back to the community.
Funeral Area Manager Danny Doherty: “It’s been great working as a team to help people, and not only has it been rewarding but we hope that it’s brightened up the garden for residents. This is what Lincolnshire Co-op is all about.” The hospice provides end of life care for terminally ill patients, and has a beautiful garden for its residents to relax in.
Thanks to our volunteers and Paul Mann from Lincoln Funeral Service for suggesting the Hospice as a place to lend a hand, it now has a freshly painted fence to match.
