A problem has occurred
We're sorry but a problem has occurred. The developers have been notified and will investigate as soon as possible.
Our celebration of co-operation as part of Co-op Fortnight continues with a look at Lincoln company DialaRide who've taken on new driving tasks during the Coronavirus pandemic.
Usually they're busy transporting people and groups to the shops and on trips out, but lockdown left their fleet of buses sat at the depot unused. Not wanting them to become inoperable, they leapt into action and rather than just taking the buses for a run, they joined forces with Lincoln Foodbank to help deliver and collect donated items.
Their volunteer drivers have so far supported over 150 people! 🎉
But they've not stopped there - understanding that people are going through very difficult and testing times, they've also provided transport for family members to services at the crematorium.
DialaRide said: "At a time when someone has lost a loved one, to have difficulty getting transport isn't something they should have to worry about."
We think this is fantastic - keep up the good work!
Lots of local groups have been in touch sharing their stories of lockdown support - you can check them out on our Community Noticeboard.
Did you know we're also working closely with 30 local food banks by housing collection points in our stores, donating goods and acting as a link with national charity FareShare? To donate to a food bank you can find your nearest store here.
