Colleagues give the NHS a helping hand

As well as Lincolnshire Co-op’s fundraising campaign for local NHS charities, colleagues have been busy supporting hospital and care workers during this difficult time.

The Society donated 4,944 packs of wipes to the United Lincolnshire Hospitals Trust  – that’s around 202,994 wipes!

The team at Maltby’s pharmacy warehouse dropped the donation off at Lincoln County Hospital, where they then distributed the wipes to other hospitals in Lincolnshire.

Colleagues at Coniston Avenue Food Store in Grimsby donated 137 cotton bags to NHS staff and care workers after they were found in storage.

Customer Service Assistant Julie Styles had the idea that they could be handed to key workers as a wash bag and Customer Service Assistant Tracey Godley put out the call. They got plenty of interest and they washed and ironed all of the bags themselves – what a gesture!

And Willoughby Road Food Store Team Leader Naomi Byrne used her spare time to make scrub bags for NHS workers. So far, she’s made 30 bags with fabric being donated by customers.

Do you want to support the local NHS? We’re running a fundraising campaign until the end of May including an online prize draw, a fundraising virtual quiz and lots of ways you can donate in store.
