The team behind a Lincolnshire Co-op filling station are celebrating after it scooped two major accolades.

Winning Post Filling Station in Lincoln topped two categories at the 2017 Superstation Awards - Best Gulf Site and Most Improved Petrol Station. The trophies were presented during a glitzy ceremony.

The wins come after a £750,000 revamp of the site on Carholme Road, which finished in spring this year.

Winning Post Manager Sophie Tazzyman said: "It was a huge surprise to win two awards, especially Best Gulf Site as there was some amazing competition.

"I felt so honoured to collect the awards and really proud of the team

"The new forecourt has not only brought us extra customer and sales, but it has also given recognition across Gulf."

The filling station closed between January and March for work to give it a new canopy, pumps and equipment, plus a more accessible layout.

In another phase of work, an extension made space for a Lincolnshire Co-op pharmacy to relocate from West Parade into the site’s food store in March.

Shoppers were able to use the food store throughout the programme of works.

Colleagues from Winning Post Filling Station and Lincolnshire Co-op’s Head Office in Lincoln attended the Superstation Awards ceremony, which was held in Kenilworth on Wednesday 12th October.

The Superstation Awards from Certas Energy are in their sixth year and are open to around 700 Gulf and Pace branded forecourts across the UK.

In August, Winning Post Filling Station was shortlisted in another two categories for the Forecourt Trader of the Year awards.
