Gadsby's Bakery, our very own Love Local💚 supplier based in Southwell, makes over five million loaves of bread, cakes and other tasty treats each year 🍰
What’s even more amazing is that many of these will be hand-finished, shaped or crafted. While some large scale bakeries have fully automated their production lines, Gadsby’s is a firm believer in adding the personal touch, so Gadsby’s products are still traditionally made.
Even with all those products they don't let anything go to waste - they have recently donated a large amount of surplus stock to Carriages Cafe in Newark. The charity, who provide meals to vulnerable persons and those in need, were delighted to receive a delivery of 52 boxes of cakes from the bakery to help fill some food parcels for local residents.
Not only that but Gadsby's also sent some spare cakes to their local care home - Southwell Court, who commented:
"We received some lovely lemon 🍋 and lime cakes from you yesterday. This is one of many times you have so very kindly sent us donations which the residents have thoroughly enjoyed."
We're passionate about keeping food and surplus waste to a minimum, so this is fantastic news to hear that local residents have received such lovely treats from Gadsby's - well done all 🎉
