A problem has occurred
We're sorry but a problem has occurred. The developers have been notified and will investigate as soon as possible.
A busy Lincolnshire Co-op filling station and food store will be transformed thanks to a major refurbishment, which will see a pharmacy added alongside a host of other improvements.
The first phase of work has already begun on the £750,000 project at Winning Post Filling Station and Food Store on Carholme Road in Lincoln, with an extension being constructed at the side of building.
This extra space will enable Lincolnshire Co-op's West Parade Pharmacy to relocate onto the site. The pharmacy will shut at close of business on Friday 10th March and reopen in its new home on Monday 13th March – meaning patients won’t miss out on its services.
The second phase will see substantial investment in the filling station, with a new canopy, pumps and equipment being installed and a more accessible layout introduced. This begins on Thursday 12th January and the filling station will be shut until Monday 13th March to allow this important work to take place.
The food store will remain open throughout the work. It will also undergo a facelift, with fixtures and fittings replaced plus new services introduced, such as an instore bakery and hot food-to-go.
Moving the pharmacy onto the Winning Post site will mean the team will be able to provide a variety of health services more easily thanks to the purpose-built space, which will include a consultation room and seating.
The new pharmacy will be more accessible and patients will benefit from the use of the car park – there is only on-street parking at the West Parade site.
Lincolnshire Co-op’s Store Development Manager Matthew Wilkinson said: “We’re making a major investment in our popular Winning Post Filling Store and Food Store.
“This scheme enables us to improve what we offer our current pharmacy customers because our team will have a purpose-built accessible space. It will also give people who already use the filling station and food store an extra service.
“However, this substantial programme of investment does mean we will have to close the filling station for a period. We’re sorry for the inconvenience this is going to cause our customers and we’ll work hard to make sure it isn’t closed any longer than it needs to be.
“Our popular food store will remain open on the Carholme Road site and petrol customers will be able to visit our Riseholme Road Filling Station and Food Store in the north of Lincoln, which will remain open as normal.
“Once this scheme is completed in March, we’re sure our loyal customers will be delighted with their new-look site, which will provide them with a hub of services under one roof.”
