A busy filling station has reopened and a new pharmacy will welcome patients from Monday after a £750,000 programme of improvements.

The new Lincolnshire Co-op pharmacy will move into the Winning Post Food Store and Filling Station on Carholme Road from its current site on West Parade. It will open at 8am on Monday 13th March.

Shoppers have been able to use the food store throughout the programme of works. The filling station part of the site has been closed to allow changes to the layout and a new canopy, pumps and equipment to be installed – this reopened today.

Moving the pharmacy onto the Winning Post site means patients will benefit from a larger dispensary, consultation room and seating. The new pharmacy also has parking and an accessible entrance.

The food store has also seen signage and fixtures updated. To celebrate the opening of the new-look site, customers who spend more than £15 on food shopping will receive a free box of chocolates between Monday 13th and Sunday 19th March.

Food Store Development Manager Matthew Wilkinson said customers’ patience during the works was appreciated.

"We know the filling station is convenient for many drivers coming into the city so we’re pleased to be able to reopen that part of the site,” he said. “We also believe that people using the filling station and food store will benefit from the extra service provided by the pharmacy."
