Food bank advent calendar

This year we'll be encouraging colleagues, members and customers to #GiveALittleSomething 🎁 and donate items of food and other essentials to their local food banks.

Food banks provide vital support for people who are having a hard time. That's why throughout December 2021 we'll be supporting them by promoting a Food Bank Advent Calendar.

We're inviting people to donate a different item to their local food bank every day from 1st - 24th December 2021 by popping items in the collection bins in our food stores.

You can also create your own collection box at home, work or school and build up your advent calendar items. This can then be delivered direct to your local foodbank in the new year – when they may struggle for donations after the Christmas surge.

Did you know that you can also donate your dividend or at the till point? You can do this from Day 1 of the advent calendar or throughout the whole of December, just let our colleagues at the till know how much you’d like to donate, and we’ll add it on to your shopping.

We know not everyone is able to make a donation at this time, but there are other ways you can support. Even just sharing the advent calendar will be a huge help and if you have time to spare, why not volunteer to help your local food bank at one of their busiest times of the year?

Find details below of the items you can pop in the collection bins or your donation box each day, along with details of the food banks we're supporting locally.

Why not download our food bank advent calendar, so you can pin it to your fridge and easily see what might be next on your shopping list - or to share it amongst friends and family so they can join in too.

Food Bank Advent Calendar

We teamed up with local food banks and community larders across the county and beyond in December 2021. Find details here of your nearest food bank, should you wish to drop off any donations:
