Apprentice Selfie - Sammy

Samantha Allen

HR Consultant/Partner – Level 5

“Since joining Lincolnshire Co-op, I’ve had the opportunity to shape the way recruitment and selection are managed across the Society and I've been involved in implementing a new recruitment system as part of my Level 5 HR Consultant/Partner apprenticeship.

Lincolnshire Co-op has been very supportive of my development so far and I have had the chance to experience all the different areas of the HR function. I’m really looking forward to seeing how my career develops and where my learning journey will take me”.

Joe Holyhead

Safety, Health & Environment – Level 3

“My apprenticeship with the University of Lincoln has been really rewarding. It has allowed me to engage with other students on the course, and the study sessions and assignments have broadened my knowledge of Health and Safety, and improved my confidence to do my job to the best of my ability.”

Apprentice Selfie - Mark

Mark Turner

Retail Team Leader - Level 3

“I’d encourage everyone considering doing an apprenticeship with Lincolnshire Co-op to go for it. It provides you with a qualification and opens doors to other opportunities. It also helps you develop valuable skills that you can use in everyday life, such as presentation skills. Personally, it helped me be sure that a management role was what I wanted to do too.

No one is too old to do an apprenticeship. I have the same enthusiasm as I did when I first started in retail and through experience, and developing myself, I’ve learnt how to channel my energy.”

Apprentice Selfie - Tasha

Natasha Bisby

Colleague Engagement Co-ordinator – Level 5 HR Business Partner/Consultant

“You get to know Lincolnshire Co-op more, as you get access to and can network with other business areas.”

Apprentice Selfie - Ben E

Ben Edge

Chartered Manager Degree Apprenticeship (CMDA) – Level 6

“I progressed quickly with the Society, starting as a post office counter clerk and becoming manager within a year. I’ve been given so many learning opportunities and since I completed my Chartered Management Degree Apprenticeship, I’ve now progressed into an advisor role with our Learning & Development team! I would have never been able to do this without the support of Lincolnshire Co-op.”

Apprentice Selfie - Amy

Amy Grove

Service Desk Team Leader – Level 6 CMDA

“I’ve recently begun my apprenticeship journey to further my knowledge and skills. I was anxious about going back to University, but I’m really enjoying my studies on a new subject and co-ordinating work based projects in my role. I am being empowered by both my line manager and the Learning & Development team to challenge myself and go further with the aim of becoming a Project Manager later in my career with Lincolnshire Co-op.”

Apprentice Selfie - Ben

Ben Sutton

Senior Leader Master’s Degree Apprenticeship (SLMDA) – Level 7

“I completed the Senior Leader Master’s Degree Apprenticeship between January 2019 and June 2021, which has enabled me to develop key skills in my role as Health & Safety Manager.

Without the support of Lincolnshire Co-op, it’s unlikely that I would have had the time or money to undertake all my further training at this stage in my career. As a joke, I’ve heard it called ‘earning and learning’ - but it’s very true!”

Apprentice Selfie - Alfie

Alfie Rossington

Assistant Payroll and Data Analyst – Level 3 Data Technician

“An apprenticeship allows me to work and gain valuable on the job experience at an organisation with great values such as Lincolnshire Co-op, whilst receiving specialist training to accompany me in the day to day job. Additionally, the apprenticeship route allowed me to choose from a variety of apprenticeship providers to best suit my needs.”

Apprentice Selfie - Ryan

Ryan Hurt

Level 3 Retail Team Leader

“The apprenticeship has been really beneficial to me and my own development, not only on the job but it's also made me a more confident person and have much more of a growth mindset. There have been tough moments during the course but I'd recommend it to anyone looking to improve themselves or to move up the chain, as it really makes you invested in both the job and developing yourself.”
