Holidaymakers will journey to a new location to book their dream break when Lincolnshire Co-op’s travel branch in Grimsby relocates to Victoria Street next month.
The Society is investing £110,000 in the new travel branch which will open on Saturday 29th February 2020. The team of eight travel experts who work at the outlet will continue helping customers at their current home in Devonshire House until Friday 28th February 2020.
Inside the Victoria Street travel branch will be four booking desks, plus a Bureau de Change to provide foreign currency. There’ll also be sophisticated design touches including a ceiling-mounted world map, as well as hot drink facilities and a comfy seating area so people can relax while planning their next break.
Manager Karen Norsden said: “We’re excited about the move to Victoria Street and can’t wait to welcome holidaymakers inside.
“Our new home will be more convenient for our customers and gives us a great central location in Grimsby, so we hope to attract lots of new people, eager to explore what Lincolnshire Co-op travel is all about.
“Because we’re independent and aren’t tied to any single tour operator, we have the flexibility to book from over 200 suppliers. We’re also bonded by ABTA and only use ATOL tour operators, so we offer that security too."
The branch will be open from 9am until 5pm every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday and from 9.45am until 5pm on Wednesdays.
Local property agent Scotts let the Victoria Street premises, which is next door to Specsavers.
Lawrence Brown from Scotts said: “At a time when retailing up and down the country has seen well publicised closures and vacancies along town centre streets, this is a much-needed boost for Grimsby. It’s reassuring to know that the right premises in the right location are still attractive to occupiers.
“I’m pleased that our advice to the landlord has secured a good letting with a quality tenant adding to the variety of occupiers in the prime retailing section of Grimsby town centre.”
Lincolnshire Co-op runs numerous other services in the Grimsby area including seven food stores, five post offices, two pharmacies and a funeral home on Corporation Road.
