Sophie Kirtley, Travel Consultant, Spalding Travel Branch

Sophie Kirtley

I did work experience with Lincolnshire Co-op while studying travel & tourism at college. From then I always knew that I wanted to be a travel consultant with the Society as they looked after me so well.

I joined the team as a travel apprentice, which was a great way of learning while gaining a qualification. I've since completed other training courses through Lincolnshire Co-op - they really support you to be the best you can be.

Seven years later I still love working in the industry. It's so rewarding to see your hard work on an enquiry turn into a holiday. When the customer comes back from their trip full of smiles and ready to book again, that's even better!

Working at Lincolnshire Co-op travel is the best thing I have ever done, I love my job and I'm proud of where I work.

Working in the travel industry is addictive - I've done it for over 20 years now! After several years working in Greece, Croatia and London in various travel roles, I feel Lincolnshire Co-op Travel is now my “travel home”.

The support from colleagues and management is hugely appreciated and I particularly like working for an independent organisation. The depth of knowledge in colleagues across all branches is outstanding and I can genuinely say it is one of the most positive travel businesses I've worked for.

Rachael Bilcliffe, Branch Manager, Louth Travel Branch

Rachael Bilcliffe

In my role, I've had some amazing opportunities to travel to some of my favourite destinations: Australia, the Indian Ocean, Florida, and much more.

The past 18 months in travel has been challenging but management has supported us all through every step and I feel incredibly grateful to have them on my side.

Lincolnshire Co-op has always felt like one big family, no matter what business area you are in. Each colleague takes genuine pride in the achievements of others and offers support when times are tough.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend a career in this wonderful industry to anyone who has a passion for travel. I have worked in travel for 30 years now and can literally not imagine doing anything else. It gets in your bones!

And if you’re going to work in the industry, there is no-one better to work for than Lincolnshire Coop.

If you're passionate about travel and think you'd be a great fit in our thriving and friendly travel teams, we want to hear from you.
