Why work for us? Lincolnshire Co-op has been named as one of the country’s top employers, offering career progression opportunities and valued reward and recognition schemes to its 3,200 colleagues.   

We've been awarded the prestigious Investors in People platinum accreditation. Platinum is the highest level and is a title held by under 200 employers nationally - just two per cent of IIP-accredited organisations.

A rigorous assessment took place in spring 2020 including a survey with more than 2,100 staff and interviews with over 100 colleagues. 

Here's the top five reasons why we're platinum...

1. Our colleagues feel they can improve if they want to and have opportunities for progression

A colleague said: If you want to take opportunities, they are there for you, and you can progress if you are driven and focussed”.

2. We have a culture of continuous improvement that colleagues are committed to 

From a suggestion scheme to groups like a Health and Safety Forum, we focus on how we can be better. Lots of colleagues said they were encouraged to try new approaches by managers and gave examples of when ideas had been taken forward.

3. We ensure equality and diversity in everything that we do

We want everyone to feel happy at work and be able to succeed with us. Part of that is making sure we’re an inclusive workplace.

4. Our reward and recognition scheme is comprehensive, fair, understood and valued by colleagues

The assessors said our scheme was ‘one of the best’ and colleagues praised our profit-share bonus and colleague discount scheme.

5. We champion the wellbeing of our colleagues and the wellbeing of the communities we serve 

Our Colleague Wellbeing team offers support and benefits, like a Cycle to Work scheme. The IIP assessors praised our response to the Coronavirus pandemic, saying we’d put the safety of our colleagues first. They also highlighted community efforts, such as our Mental Health First Aiders.
