Excellence in staff development, community involvement and collaborative working are three of the reasons why Lincolnshire Co-op has been recognised as an excellent employer, striking gold for the third time.
We've been successfully re-accredited as an Investors in People Gold employer for the 6th year, a standard which is assessed every three years and is recognised across 75 countries.
A team of assessors spent 13 days conducting over 120 interviews with colleagues from across the business to explore the practices of the organisation.
We're one of just 9 other business in Lincolnshire to have achieved this standard, which sets apart excellence in the way businesses lead, support and manage their employees.
A 54-page report to support the accreditation highlights how senior managers lead by example to work with their teams, ‘share information’ and ‘adopt a coaching role’ in discussions and decision-making.
Many colleagues spoke of feeling inspired and motivated to undertake training courses to develop to their ‘full potential’ through internal development programs.
The report also highlighted how the Society is an environment that enables people to use their unique talents to progress, something that is supported by senior level management.
Chief Executive of Lincolnshire Co-op Ursula Lidbetter said: “We’re extremely proud to have achieved the Investors in People Gold re-accreditation. It’s a tough standard which includes a rigorous assessment method of our business.
“Achieving this is not just a plaque on the wall but a recognition that our colleagues are at the heart of what we do and fundamental to our achievements.”
