Inspiring colleagues from across Lincolnshire Co-op have been recognised with colleague awards for providing valued services, working in their communities and looking for ways to make a positive difference.
The Coronavirus outbreak forced the cancellation of the Society's annual awards ceremony however, this hasn’t stopped Lincolnshire Co-op from celebrating the hard work done by colleagues in the past year.
Colleague of the Year 2020: Gold winner
Winners included Eve-Marie Price from Lincolnshire Co-op’s Liquorpond Street Pharmacy in Boston. She triumphed in the Colleague of the Year category, winning the overall Gold award.
Eve was described as ‘constantly bringing joy and cheer to customers and staff’. She won the award following nominations from her fellow colleagues and manager.
Lots of nominations told of her outstanding attitude to customer service. She helped a regular customer who was struggling during a difficult period and she supported someone living on the streets and got them back on their feet again.
Colleague of the Year 2020: Silver winner
The Silver Colleague of the Year award was handed to Mick Pollard from the Health and Safety team at Head Office in Lincoln, who received multiple nominations describing him as ‘going above and beyond.’
He was on hand to offer support to a team during a challenging time and made everyone feel at ease. One of the nominations says: “Mick will say he was only doing his job, but he went far beyond that. To be helping colleagues with such a difficult situation and at all hours of the day is truly inspiring.”
Colleague of the Year 2020: Bronze winner
Gainsborough Travel Manager Jo Sims was awarded the Bronze Colleague of the Year Award. She’s a passionate member of the team who is always looking for ways to promote the branch within the local community.
When a local travel agent in nearby Epworth closed, Jo used her initiative and encouraged her team to go out to the local village hall to organise a ‘Typically Italy’ event. This promoted the expertise of our colleagues, who offer independent advice, and gained some new customers to the branch as well generating several bookings.
