From dressing up in a rainbow of colours to challenging online quizzers, Lincolnshire Co-op is aiming to raise thousands for local NHS charities.

The campaign launches with a rainbow-themed dress up or dress down initiative for colleagues on Saturday 9th, Sunday 10th and Monday 11th May.

And the Society has kick-started the fundraising with a £1 donation per member of staff - over £3,000.

People can donate online through Lincolnshire Co-op’s Virgin Money NHS fundraising page. They'll be entered into an exclusive prize draw to say thank you. The prize is £250 in Lincolnshire Co-op vouchers, plus a £250 donation to a charity of the person’s choice.

There’s also a way of donating in outlets. Customers at food stores and pharmacies can ask to give when they are doing their normal shopping or picking up a prescription.

If they have a dividend card, they can also choose to donate their dividend. In total, there's £4.5m of unspent dividend on Lincolnshire Co-op member’s cards.

An online fundraising quiz will be held at 7pm on Sunday 24th May It’s going to be broadcast on Lincolnshire Co-op’s You Tube channel and promoted on social media. People will be asked to donate if they’re taking part. The quiz is being supported by Lincs FM and The Lincolnite.

Money raised from the online fundraising campaign will be split between:

  • United Lincolnshire Hospitals NHS Trust Charitable Funds
  • The Health Tree Foundation (Northern Lincolnshire & Goole)
  • Queen Elizabeth Hospital Trust (Kings Lynn)

Community Manager Sam Turner said: “Like everyone else in the country, we’re incredibly proud of our NHS and want to show all the workers how much we appreciate them.

“That’s why we’re launching a campaign to raise funds for our local NHS charities.

“So, whether it’s entering our online prize draw, giving their brain a workout with our online quiz or donating some unspent dividend, we’d love for as many people as possible to join in.”

Donations collected in Lincolnshire Co-op’s Newark outlets will go to Sherwood Forest Hospitals Charity, and those collected in the society’s Scarborough and Hull pharmacies will go to the York Teaching Hospital Charity and the WISHH Charity.

The fundraising campaign comes to an end on Saturday 30th May. You can find terms and conditions for the prize draw here.
