It’s National Careers Week – designed to offer careers guidance to young people leaving education and moving into the world of work and give employers a chance to engage with their future work force.
There are many ways colleagues can progress with Lincolnshire Co-op and launch their career journey. Emily Credland and Kieran Boyle joined Lincolnshire Co-op as customer services assistants while studying.
They developed a passion for retail and decided to join our bespoke management training programme called LEAP, which is designed for colleagues in food who want to learn more about management.
Kieran is now manager at Riseholme Road Food Store and Filling Station in Lincoln. He said support from colleagues had helped shaped his career.
“One of my previous managers was a big inspiration to me,” he said. “She taught me all I needed to know and gave her time to champion me within the role. Her passion and enthusiasm really motivated me to pursue a career in management.”
Emily is now manager at Kilton Food Store and says there are many chances to develop while working at Lincolnshire Co-op.
“There are so many opportunities to progress, learn and continue developing yourself with skills both inside and out of the workplace,” she said. “My confidence has grown, I’m better at communicating and I’ve gained qualifications along the way.”
At Lincolnshire Co-op, we have lots of opportunities across our business areas. You can find our current vacancies here.
