Kick-start your co-op career

Budding travel, pharmacy, retail and post office workers can earn while they learn as we begin recruitment for new apprentices.

During National Apprenticeship Week (14th – 18th March) we'll be advertising places for apprentices who will have the opportunity to learn on the job and through training.

The Society pays its apprentices the national minimum wage for their age and so far more than 20 former apprentices are now working throughout the business in roles from supervisors and store managers to dispensing technicians, accuracy checking technicians and travel consultants.

In addition to retail, pharmacy and travel, this year a completely new programme has been developed and we'll be taking on our first ever post office apprentices.

On-the-job training includes working at different stores and branches in our trading area as well as spending time in alternative parts of the business, like head office, to learn more about Lincolnshire Co-op as a whole.

Apprentices also study for nationally recognised qualifications and complete internal courses in relevant subjects.

Lincolnshire Co-op’s Head of People and Performance Heather Lee said: “We believe that apprenticeships are a way of attracting talented and enthusiastic people to come and work for Lincolnshire Co-op.

“Our apprenticeships give young people who want to develop their skills the chance to earn a good wage while they learn and in lots of cases we are able to provide career opportunities at the end of their training.”
