A Lincolnshire Co-op colleague has accepted an award at the Lincolnshire Lockdown Heroes Awards 2020 in recognition of her unwavering dedication and exceptional efforts during lockdown.
Aly Gratrick, Funeral Director at Proctor's Road Funeral Home, was presented with the award at a socially distanced ceremony held at Lincoln College where she was recognised for her extraordinary work.
The awards, organised by The Lincolnite, Lincoln College Group and Lincolnshire Chamber of Commerce, received over 370 nominations, which were then narrowed down to eight thoroughly deserving winners.
Lincoln College Group CEO, Gary Headland said: “This was an opportunity to celebrate the wonderful examples of human compassion, resolve and bravery that we saw in Lincolnshire throughout the lockdown period.
"Our winners really stood out as extraordinary and we were delighted to be able to invite them onto our campus for a small socially distanced celebration today."
Aly was nominated by a colleague for working passionately and tirelessly for the families who lost loved ones throughout lockdown, even going as far as calling people after funerals to make sure they were okay.
Aly said: "The nomination was a complete and utter shock - I knew nothing about it! I feel honoured to have received this award and truly privileged to be able to do my job."
This isn't the first time Aly's hard work has been recognised, after she received the Lincolnshire Co-op Silver Colleague of the Year Award in 2019.
Well done, Aly - what an inspiring achievement!
