First Aid at work - 3 days

This three day course is for people who want to receive thorough first aid training. The course will give them the skills and knowledge to manage an incident, provide first aid and maintain first aid supplies in the work place.

Successful candidates will gain a nationally recognised Level 3 qualification to meet the requirements of the Health and Safety Executive First Aid Regulations 1981.

The content of this 3 day course provides basic lifesaving first aid and workplace health and safety regulations, covering the following:

• The role of the first aider

• Health and safety (first aid) regulations

• Head injuries

• Managing an emergency

• Resuscitation (adult CPR)

• Communication and casualty care

• Seizures (adult)

• Diabetes

• Bleeding (minor and severe)

• Shock

• Burns and Scalds

• Asthma

• Poisoning

• Bone, muscle and joint injuries

• Severe allergic reaction

• Chest pains (including angina & heart attack)

• Unresponsive casualty

• Spinal injuries

• Eye injuries

• Stroke

• Fainting

• Choking (adult)

We will supply refreshments, including lunch. If you have special dietary needs, let us know so that appropriate refreshments can be arranged.

Candidates should be in generally good physical health as this course requires candidates to be active, carrying out manual handling of casualties and practise CPR on the floor.
