Margaret Tranter

Job: Retired Accounts Supervisor

Title: Vice President

Originally from Glasgow, and after many years of military service, my husband Gerry and I happily settled in Lincoln with our two children more than 30 years ago.

I started work with the Society as a Member Accounts supervisor in 1987 and, during my employment, took a keen interest in its ethos, governance and in the role Directors play in ensuring its continued success as a Co-operative business. In 2002 I took early retirement and was first elected to the Board in 2003 acquiring my Co-operative Director's Diploma within two years.

Since then, I have had the privilege of sitting on various Committees within the board and was honoured to be appointed President in 2009. I endeavour to serve the Society and its Members and to ensure that co-operative ideals continue to underpin and define the Society's future direction, and to represent the Members' view on all aspects of Society business both locally and beyond.
