Netball club scores with donation

Netball players are benefitting from a bunch of new equipment including match balls, first aid kits, a scoreboard and training aids thanks to a £500 grant.
Lincoln City Netball Club was given a community dividend grant by Lincolnshire Co-operative to purchase the gear.
The club, which trains at Lincoln College, has teams for young people spanning a range of ages and also has three senior teams for adults. There are around 100 club members.
Squads take part in the Lincolnshire League and have also started to play in regional leagues and tournaments.
Under 16s coach Gemma Carter applied for the money from Lincolnshire Co-op.
“The grant has made a real difference to us because it’s meant we’ve been able to buy much better equipment. For example, the balls have a much improved grip which means the girls get more out of training and matches,” she said.
“We’re also starting to play in more regional matches in the league and tournaments and you need equipment like the first aid kits to be able to take part.”
Lincolnshire Co-operative is owned by its 173,000 members. As a co-operative, it shares it profits with members in a number of ways including paying dividend on purchases and giving community dividend grants and donations to the community.
