Community groups and schools can get £20 of goods from Lincolnshire Co-operative to use at events promoting the values of Fairtrade Fortnight.
It’s simple to get hold of a voucher for the goods – all organisations have to do is get in touch with the Society’s Membership and Community Team to request a short application form.
Lincolnshire Co-op ran the scheme last year and 70 organisations benefitted including schools, church groups and Rainbow packs.
Fairtrade Fortnight runs from 22nd February until March 7th. Nationally, the theme is ‘The Big Swap’ and people are being encouraged to swap their normal products for Fairtrade ones, such as tea, coffee, fruit and wine. The aim is to get one million ‘swaps’ during the fortnight.
Membership and Community Manager Sam Turner said: “We’re committed to the principles of Fairtrade at Lincolnshire Co-operative. The idea of this scheme is to help local community groups and schools organise their own events so that they can learn more about the Fairtrade message – and also get lots of other people involved.”
Call Lincolnshire Co-operative’s Membership and Community Team on 01522 544632 or email membershipandcommunity@lincolnshire.coop to get hold of an application form. Please note, the scheme is not open to individuals, those requesting a voucher have to come from a specific group organising an event.
