At Lincolnshire Co-operative, we believe looking after the environment is an important part of our mission to support the communities we trade in.

We make an effort to recycle as much as we can throughout the business and we’ve also introduced new technologies in a bid to minimise our impact on the environment.

Our electricity is ‘green’ and we’ve also invested £100,000 in the Fenland Green Power Co-operative, a wind farm at Deeping St Nicholas which can supply green energy to 2,000 homes.

At our store in Sleaford, we’re trialling a scheme where we reward members who reuse bags with dividend points and make a small charge for throwaway plastic bags. We believe it’s reduced the number of standard carrier bags used and we’re now looking at how we can take this forward.

Through our grants, sponsorships and donations we’ve also supported a range of environmental projects, including the Epic Centre at Lincolnshire Showground, an innovative building showcasing all kinds of new environmental technology.
