Charity of the Year 2009/2010
Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer through providing practical, medical, emotional and financial support and pushing for better cancer care.
Our year of fundraising has got off to a flying start with with members of staff from all areas of Lincolnshire Co-operative busy raising funds. Here are just a few fundraising events that have taken place so far….
The World’s Biggest Coffee Morning
All of our coffee shops in Lincoln, Gainsborough, Long Sutton and Spalding made donations from cups of coffee and tea sold on the day and enticed customers with delicious green iced Macmillan cakes!
Staff from People and Performance at Stanley Bett House brought in cakes to sell raising £104!
Market Street Pharmacy in Gainsborough held a two day Halloween fundraising event. All their hardwork paid off – they raised a fantastic £510!
Staff from Metheringham Foodstore raised £900.89 at the Metheringham Feast with a raffle and competitions!
Misterton Foodstore and post office held a raffle raising a huge £384!
City Square Foodstore held a Christmas event day with a raffle, face painting and cake sale and raised an amazing £408.52!
Lincolnshire’s Little Cookbook, our charity recipe book packed full of dishes showing off the best of local produce. So far the book has raised £3600
If you’ve not got your hands on a recipe book, they are available at our foodstores, home stores, coffee shops and Stanley Bett House…. they cost £5 with every penny going to Macmillan Cancer Support.

Marie Curie Cancer Care
Congratulations to our staff and members who raised money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. – it has been another record breaking year!!
£51,100
All the money raised will go towards the work of local nurses and will pay for 2,555 hours of care
